Re: Elizabeth Jones
To Whom It May Concern:

I have known Liz Jones in a professional capacity since August 2000. I hired Liz to manage the Customer Service department at The Resco Company in Hudson, WI. When I interviewed Liz I saw enthusiasm and a level of determination that I feel are necessary for success. Those qualities, along with the leadership roles she assumes in her volunteer positions and the degree she was then pursuing, prompted me to hire her as a manager.

I am happy that I followed my instinct. I found Liz to be very goal oriented and professionally, she demonstrated the ability to logically approach challenges in her management capacity. Her approach to any task was to determine the desired outcome, develop a plan, execute the plan through communication and training, evaluate the outcome and continue to monitor performance and results. This approach, along with her dedication to continuous improvement both personally and professionally, in my opinion, develops a strong and trustworthy leader.

In her first year of employment she encountered many personnel challenges. The determination and desire I saw when I interviewed her enabled her to do what was fair and right for the company. She thrives on challenge and process development.

Liz’s goal to obtain the leadership skills to influence people to better their own lives prompted her to pursue a graduate degree in Organization Leadership and attend Law School.

To Whom It May Concern:

I had the pleasure of working with Liz Jones while I served on the Board of Directors for The Bridge to Hope and would highly recommend her as a candidate for employment. As an Executive Director for a small non-profit, Liz was responsible for overall agency management, staff supervision, grant writing, budgeting and strategic planning. Liz was also very effective at public relations, creating brochures, newsletters, and other office literature to promote the Bridge and its Domestic Abuse Prevention services in Dunn and Pepin Counties.

Liz has proven to me that she is an excellent communicator, and is extremely organized, reliable and computer literate. She can work independently and is able to follow through to ensure that the job gets done. She is flexible and willing to work on any project that is assigned to her.

Any employer should consider Liz to be a tremendous asset for their company. She has my highest recommendation for management level employment. If you have any further questions with regard to her background or qualifications, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,
Kris Pawlowski

To Whom It May Concern:

This letter is my personal recommendation for Liz Jones. As a former board member of The Bridge, I had the pleasure of interacting with Ms. Jones during monthly board meetings, fundraising events, and professional functions. As Assistant District Attorney, I continue to have the opportunity to work with Ms. Jones on a professional level as she is actively involved in our legal system.

Ms. Jones has proven herself to be an instrumental leader of our community in implementing the field of restorative justice to our courts. She organized a restorative justice training which was well received by members of the community and legal system. She is also actively involved in court and jail programs designed to effectively prosecute and stop the cycle of domestic violence in our community.

On the interpersonal side, Ms. Jones has superior written and verbal communication skills. She is a resourceful, take-charge, and solution-oriented person who is able to present creative ideas and communicate the benefits. During my tenure on the board, Ms. Jones successfully obtained several new grants that resulted in increased revenue and services for the organization.

The mission statement of The Bridge is to empower victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault to rise above the terror of violence and to educate the community in order to end violence in our society. Ms. Jones leads by example and her dedication to furthering the mission is both inspiring and motivating. She is an excellent leader and would make a great asset to any organization.

Sincerely,

To Whom It May Concern:

This is a letter of recommendation for Ms. Liz Jones of which I am proud to be writing. I have known Liz in a variety of capacities. She was one of the first trained mediators for St. Croix Valley Restorative Justice, at that time I was on the board of directors. Liz and I have shared professional collaborations as Executive Directors. We have found our selves in similar networking groups and projects.

Liz has demonstrated the ability to collaborate and understand community organizing. Most recently she arranged a community wide training, bringing together social services, school and legal staff. Liz has also shown a dedication to her cause and staff. She coordinated staff retreats and trainings, understanding the need for community building.

I have experienced Liz to be a clear communicator and a caring individual. She is open and honest and often places the needs of others above her own. She is skilled in bringing others together for a common goal.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me at the number listed above. Thank you very much.

Respectfully,

To Whom It May Concern:

I have known Liz Jones for two years as I serve on the Board of Directors for the Bridge to Hope, and I am pleased to write this letter of recommendation for her.

Liz is doing an outstanding job as Executive Director for the Bridge to Hope. She is committed to the mission of the Bridge and passionate in her advocacy for victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse. She is organized, responsible and works extremely hard to achieve the goals of the organization. She is engaged in numerous program development and community outreach activities and is a gifted public speaker. She is also an excellent writer and has written numerous grants to provide additional funding for the Bridge.

She works well with her staff and is highly respected within the Menomonie community. She recently completed a master's degree in Organizational Leadership, while working full-time, and she is constantly seeking to further develop her knowledge base and leadership skills. I have been impressed with Liz since I met her, and I would strongly recommend her for a management level position in the human services field.

In summary, Liz is a dedicated professional who brings a great deal of ability and experience to her position. She has spent many years of her life in professional and/or volunteer roles working to stop domestic violence, empower women and work for social justice. If you have any questions or need additional information regarding her background or qualifications, please contact me at 715-232-2421 or furst-bowej@uwstout.edu

I have the privilege of knowing Liz Jones. During a time in my life when everything became so overbearing and hard to handle, I had the opportunity to share my frustrations with Liz. She became a mentor not only for me but also many others who find themselves in a situation they don't understand. I will be forever grateful for her support and words of strength. Liz is one of those people who will fight for what she believes in, no matter the status quo. She is a strong caring person who reaches out to all people including those who need and deserve compassion. She will do what needs to be done to strengthen our community and will fight for rights of all people. Liz is a strong willed person whom I am grateful for the opportunity to know and consider a true friend and advocate. She is driven with a power that amazes me and it is an honor to support and endorse her. Liz Jones has the voice and commitments-she is strong, confident and continually fights for what she believes in most--the people of our community. Michelle Judge

Liz Jones is one of the most extraordinary women I have had the pleasure to meet and with whom I have worked. She is compassionate, high energy, thorough and highly reliable.

Liz Jones exhibits character further developed under some extremely trying conditions. Her son’s terrible accident while he was in high school not only showed her caring for him during his recuperation but her guidance and long term support. She is a loving mother who overcame challenging circumstances.
Liz embodies the American Dream and is an example of overcoming adversity, pulling up her bootstraps and getting down to hard work.

My work with Healthy Communities and Recovery Network takes me to many related agencies, meetings, and workshops. Frequently I see Liz Jones there, as she follows her passion to improve life for the citizens of our community. I hear her speak for the poor and marginalized, and often I know that her time and energy is being given on a volunteer basis, growing out of her commitment to social justice. During the seven years that I have known her, I’ve learned that this advocacy grows out of her own life experience and the compassion of a loving heart. Liz is beautiful in body and spirit.

I have known Liz Jones for almost 15 years. During that time, she has amazed me with her energy and dedication to her passions. I have watched her pursue her education while raising her son and volunteering/mentoring others and working full time. During this time, she also was a caring friend and made time in her busy schedule to honor those relationships. Her commitment and dedication to the causes she believes in is truly remarkable. She has the energy, drive and stamina to do what needs to be done for her community and fight for social justice. Liz is a remarkable woman who is focused and driven yet in a compassionate way. Her leadership skills are evident in her work and she is not afraid to speak out and fight for what she believes in. My support and blessings are with Liz as she embarks on this next journey to improve the lives of others.
